Affordable Hotels Near the Metro in Arlington, VA Arlington, Virginia
If you're planning to visit Washington, D.C., then Arlington is a terrific place to stay. Not only is it more affordable, but it's also very close to the central part of D.C. and well connected by the capital's amazing public transportation system, the Metro.

Two main sections of Arlington are on the Metro lines. First is the stretch through the middle of Arlington that runs along Wilson Blvd. from Rosslyn to Ballston, going through Courthouse and Clarendon. Here the Orange and Silver line makes multiple stops in neighborhoods that are full of hotels, restaurants, shops, apartments, cafes, and office buildings. The other section is in southern Arlington as it stretches south down the river past the airport towards Alexandria. Here the neighborhoods of Pentagon City and Crystal City are also home to hotels, restaurants, and shopping areas. Either one of these regions of Arlington are perfect for travelers whether you're visiting for fun or for business.

I lived in Arlington for many years, and I've also been back to visit many times, so I know the area well. It's grown a lot in recent years, which means it has plenty of options for every type of traveler at many different prices.

Arlington, VA
We stayed in this hotel during our recent east coast road trip, and our stay was fantastic. I chose the location because I know the Courthouse neighborhood well. It's full of restaurants and shops where the locals and visitors alike enjoy all of the nearby conveniences of an urban area. This hotel is only 1 block from the Courthouse Metro station which is on the Orange and Silver lines. From here, you can be at the Smithsonian Metro station on the Mall in a matter of minutes, or anywhere else in D.C. quite quickly, too.

The hotel is fairly new, and resides in a newly constructed building. So, everything here is modern and clean, including the central air conditioning system. You won't have to worry about loud window units here! The bathrooms are also luxurious with spacious countertops and modern conveniences. Our room had a standing shower with plenty of water pressure.

Our room also had a king sized bed as well as a sofa that pulled out into a bed. This was great for our family which needed a little more space. Plenty of storage was provided with drawers and a large wardrobe, too. And of course the room had a TV with plenty of cable channels. Also, it had a mini-fridge, microwave, toiletries, and other features that would be expected from a luxury hotel chain such as Hyatt.

Perhaps the best part of this hotel was the amazing buffet breakfast that was full of delicious and freshly prepared food. This is not one of those small breakfasts of toast, coffee, and cereal that some hotels provide. Instead, they had various hot items such as fresh eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, monkey bread, and more. Fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and cereal is also provided, as well as a large selection of bread and bagels and a large toaster. Milk and juice options rounded it out. The sitting area in the lobby for the meal was nicely appointed with large TVs for getting the day's news or weather. And the staff was fantastic and very helpful! At the time we stayed the breakfast was free, but they supposedly will start charging for it unless you join the loyalty program. It's worth it; it was delicious and a great start to the day.

Also provided at this hotel is a gym, free Wi-Fi, newspapers, luggage storage, and more. They have valet parking for a fee, or you can park in the secured garage next door for $14 per day.

Overall, this hotel is an excellent choice!

Another great perk of this hotel is the low price. While this isn't the most luxurious hotel in the area, it offers comfortable beds, clean rooms, central air-conditioning, and a nice list of amenities. Rooms have standard hotel bathrooms, mini-fridges and microwaves, TVs with cable channels, and Wi-Fi. Multi-room suites are also offered. The hotel itself has coffee, a comfortable lobby, laundry, fitness center, bike rental, free parking, and more. While they don't offer breakfast, plenty of options are available at nearby restaurants and cafes in the Rosslyn neighborhood.

This no-frills hotel is one of the least expensive in Arlington. As it's only a few blocks from two different Metro stations (Clarendon and Virginia Square), the location is perfect for anyone looking to spend time in Washington. The rooms are fairly basic, but they provide typical hotel amenities such as a standard private bathroom, TV, mini-fridge, microwave, Wi-Fi, and more. The building might be a little outdated, but the rooms are kept clean and the service is very friendly. You can grab breakfast (or any meal) at one of the nearby restaurants, of which there are plenty. This is one of the best values in Arlington because all of the rooms are apartments with full kitchens. You'll find the typical Marriott standards of quality here with everything. Furthermore, this hotel has an indoor pool, fantastic buffet breakfast, and some terrific lounge areas. This can truly be your home away from home during your stay in Washington. While it's more expensive than some of the nearby hotels, you get so much more!

The bathrooms are luxurious, and the rooms are divided with a separate living room and bedroom area. The kitchens are fully stocked with stoves, ovens, large refrigerators, microwaves, and a full complement of cookware and dishes.

The lobby area has several sitting areas including the large breakfast area. The indoor pool also has a hot tub. A gym is provided, as is a coin operated laundry room. The breakfast itself is worth the cost and has plenty of hot and cold options such as fruit, eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon, cereal, toast, juice, and more.

The location is also perfect, as it is only 1 block from the Courthouse Metro station. It sits on a plaza full of shops and restaurants (Thai, Vietnamese, German Beer House, Movie Theater, Pizza, Sushi, Starbucks), so you have plenty of options right out the door, not to mention in the surrounding blocks.
