Koh Tarutao, A Secluded Beach in Thailand!
If you've partied a little too hard and need a break on an isolated beach in Thailand, there is actually one left. Head toward the border with Malaysia, hop on a ferry and check out Koh Tarutao. It's a national park with very limited food options, but you'll practically have the beach to yourself.
Renting a Motorbike in Thailand
If you're going to rent a motorbike in Thailand, make sure you check it thoroughly before you head out. As with any rental place anywhere else, make sure the bike is in good shape and make note of any dents or damage. Renting a motorbike is lots of fun, but drive safe and smart!
Take the Local Buses in Thailand
By
Bryan
on May 16, 2010 in Intercity Transportation
When traveling from city to city in Thailand, local travel agents will tell you how cheap and how great the tourists buses are. In reality, they are much more expensive than the local buses, and take the same amount of time. The level of service is also sorely lacking on some of the buses. Drivers tend to let passengers off on the side of the highway instead of pulling closer to town centers, even though they advertise that they will take you all the way to your destination. Other times, the quality of the bus will not be the same as the one that you are shown in a photo at the travel agency where you buy your tickets. The local buses are run by the government. They are not always nice, and some are run down. However, they always run on an efficient schedule, clearly state where and when they will stop, and are not pressured to dump you off on the side of the road to make a faster commission. For better service, you pay a lower price. Amazing!
