Charles Bridge Economic Hostel Prague Hostel Review and Information

Superb location!! The hostel has a central location, close to everything you might want to see in the city. It is outside the tourist-crowded Old Town but only a few steps from it. I went to Prague by myself and felt safe even when walking back late to the hostel, since even at night I'd still see some people on the streets. The staff was very friendly and the hostel had a calm, friendly atmosphere. The female dorm was good, the kitchen was small but very clean and had everything I needed. - Brazilian Girl

Charles Bridge Economic Hostel

This charmingly historic, yet renovated hostel offers a lot of great amenities at a low price. With dorms, apartments, and hotel-style private rooms, they have something for everyone. The location is fantastic as it's right next to Charles Bridge with easy access to Old Town and the Prague Castle. It's a quiet hostel without much common space other than the communal kitchen and information desk, so this hostel caters to travelers that are interested in seeing Prague and traveling on a budget.

The Facilities

Dorms
Dorm Bed $20.69
The dorms don't have bunk beds, but rather all of the beds are on the floor which is a nice perk. They all have 6 or 7 beds each, and an all-female room is available. Some of the rooms are very charming in their decor, and all of the rooms are nice and clean with some extra furniture. Towels are included, and there are no extra fees for things like linens or blankets.
Private Rooms
Private Room $19.48
A variety of private rooms can be found here from basic hotel-style rooms to apartments that have their own kitchens. Ensuite bathrooms are available for most private rooms. Some of the apartment rooms and 4-bed private rooms would be fantastic for families, especially since this hostel is very quiet. The double rooms are great for couples, too.
Bathrooms
Bathrooms are modern and refurbished. Plenty of hot water is available and water pressure is good. Towels are included, and there are enough showers and toilets for everyone.
Common Areas
Other than the tour and travel desk on the main floor, there is not much common space here. They have a shared kitchen to cook your own meals, and several of the apartment-style rooms have their own lounge and kitchen areas.

Otherwise, several bars are located in nearby buildings if you want to get out and meet up with others.

The Location

Mala Strana (Castle)
What's Nearby?
Situated at the end of the Charles Bridge on the west side of the river (the castle side), the Charles Bridge Economic Hostel provides excellent access to old town Prague as well as the historic and charming neighborhood around the castle. Everything in old town is just over the bridge while the castle is just a few minutes up the hill. A variety of bars, restaurants, shops, and cafes are nearby as well.
Nearby Transportation
The tram line runs right near the hostel, just a block or so away. On the tram you can get to anywhere in central Prague in around 20 minutes or less. You can even take the tram down and over one of the bridges into old town if you don't want to walk over the bridge.

Amenities

Basic amenities can be found here such as a shared kitchen, Wi-Fi, and a tours desk. Otherwise, they don't offer much more than this since this hostel has more of a hotel-style feel to it. They have key-card access, luggage storage, TVs, towels, linens, and can help you with your activities around Prague.
