Travel Tips for Antioch

Old Town Antioch

By backpackguru (Photographic Voyage) on Nov 9, 2011 in Entertainment
The city of Antioch is split into two parts by the River Orontes. It is referred to as Asi in Turkish. There's a nice old town to the city which is nice to walk around. In the old town you'll see the Habib Meccar Cami. The Habib Meccar Cami is a mosque dating back to the 17th century and is located on Kurtulus Caddesi, which is on the south side of Saint Peters. If you to visit a neighborhood with a different feel and character, head to the area north of the bazaar quarter. Here you'll find a place that feels more Syrian and Arab, as opposed to the typical Turkish environment.
