The United States of America is one of the largest and most diverse nations in the world. As such, it receives a large number of visitors every year who come to see the big cities, national parks, beaches, and historical attractions. The U.S.A. has a number of things to do throughout the country from outdoor activities to urban adventures to watersports and skiing. The list is quite long, indeed!
The national parks of the U.S. are one of the biggest draws for tourists both from abroad and within the country. As the national park system in America is one of the best and most developed in the world, many significant and unique natural areas have been protected and preserved for future generations. Some of the most famous and visited of these parks include Yellowstone, the first national park (in Wyoming), as well as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, Arches National Park and Zion National Park in Utah, Yosemite in California, and the Everglades in Florida. However, these parks represent only a small portion of the national parks in the country, as almost all of the 50 states have at least one park or monument. Camping in the parks is popular, as it provides an affordable way to enjoy the parks, but it is definitely not the only option for accommodation. In almost all of the parks, hiking, biking, wildlife viewing, and swimming are popular activities.
On the other hand, if it's urban experiences you're after, the U.S. has some of the most dynamic cities in the world. Visiting a unique and character-filled city such as New York, L.A., Chicago, or San Francisco is on many travelers' bucket list. In the cities of the U.S. tourists can stay in interesting hotels, see old historical buildings, visit art museums, eat at world class restaurants, enjoy nightlife such as bars and clubs, and more. Every medium to large city in the U.S. has something unique to offer, and many of the smaller towns offer a glimpse into rural America, too.

The beaches of the U.S. are also quite diverse. The east coast beaches tend to be warm all summer and into the fall, while swimming in Florida is possible in some places year-round. On the west coast, the coastal landscape is often rugged and breathtaking, with rocky cliffs forming along the edges of wide sandy beaches. All are a must-see!
And don't forget about winter sports. Through the Rockies of Colorado and Utah and north to Montana, skiing and snowboarding are very popular. The eastern mountains from Maine to Georgia also offer skiing, often at more affordable prices, too.
