What's Included?
Box and Whisker charts show typical costs for countries and cities. Costs are average expenses from actual travelers. From left to right, the 5 costs are (1) the absolute minimum, (2) the typical budget cost, (3) the mid-range cost, (4) the typical luxury cost, and (5) the absolute maximum anyone has spent in that category.

Each travel cost guide contains money saving tips for the country of interest. Also, each country and city page displays a chart showing typical travel expenses over a variety of categories. On top of that, specific examples are highlighted to give you a real world understanding of what you can expect to pay when you arrive at your destination.

Guides also cover practical financial and safety tips such as using ATMs and credit cards, keeping your cash safe from thieves, and avoiding scams. Where appropriate, we also include sections on negotiating for better prices, dealing with pushy touts, and properly handling donations and handouts.
